On-Loading a Low Car

Equipment Needed
Work Gloves
Ratchet Straps
Bridal Chains
Ramp

In this video, we’re going to be on-loading a low car. This could be for:

• Vehicle with a flat tire(s)
• Lowered vehicles (or cars with a low front panel)
• Sports cars

Step 1: Engage the PTO.

Step 2: Stage your chains.

Step 3: Tilt the bed back to the front of the tires of the vehicle you’re towing. Leave extra space from the ground to place your ramps underneath. You can also put the bed down on-top of the ramps so they’re held in place.

Step 4: Hook the car. You’re going to have limited space, because of how low the vehicle is. Using your aluminum jack, you can jack the car up if need be. Tighten winch.

Step 5: Put the car in neutral, line up the tires with your bed.

Step 6: Place your ramps, and ensure the tires are aligned.

Step 7: Now, begin to slowly winch the vehicle onto the bed, keeping a close eye on the tires as they roll up your ramps.

Step 8: Once in place, we’re going to strap it down. Instead of 10 & 2 on your straps, go a little lower on the tire so that it doesn’t give. (Being that it’s flat, the strap can slide easier)

Step 9: Don’t forget to put your ramps away. Roll the bed back and perform your final walk through.

Step 10: Dis-engage your PTO.
