Daily Inspection (Fluids)
In this video, I review with you the importance of performing daily inspections on your truck, specifically fluids. This should be done every morning before starting your day. Throughout your shift, listen for concerning noises and watch for anything on the truck that may be a problem.
Why this matters
Operate more professionally.
Taking care of your equipment can go a long way.
Depending on the fluid, it can do serious damage to the truck.
If the truck breaks down, then you can’t work.\
What to inspect
Brake fluid
Coolant
Power-steering fluid
Engine oil
Transmission fluid
Washer fluid
Brake fluid: This will only be visible for hydraulic brake trucks. For most Fords, see the side of the container for max fill line.
Coolant: For most Fords, see the side of the container for max fill line.
Power steering fluid: For most Fords, see the side of the container for max fill line.
Engine oil: Pull the oil stick, wipe it clean, then place it back inside of it’s holder. Pull it out again, then check the level and cleanliness of the fluid.
Transmission fluid: You only check this daily is If it’s an automatic. A Manuel/standard you would only check during service intervals, not every morning because it’s underneath and has a plug.
Washer fluid: For most Fords, see the side of the container for max fill line.
